On Wednesday May 17th, members of the SVFD participated in live burn training at the Putnam County Fire Training Center. Operating with live-fire simulates conditions found inside an actual structure fire. It is the most realistic training that we can conduct. Members practiced searching for unconscious victims and deploying hose lines into the building. Inside the burn building members are faced with real smoke, real heat, and real fire. It was also almost 90 degrees outside that day! Our members who participated worked hard and improved their skills to help protect our community better.
