The Town of Somers has declared a state of emergency effective 6:30 pm today until 8 am Saturday March 3rd, 2018.There are currently 30 road closures throughout Somer's due to fallen trees. The town is clearing roads where ever possible, however many of these involve live electrical wires that require a response from NYSEG. Stay away from downed wires. With 4,000 power outages across Somers the town has activated it's emergency shelter at the Heritage Hills Activity Center for those in need. Thank you and be safe.
