On Tuesday October 23rd as part of our annual fire prevention month activities the SVFD visited Primrose school. Every year the children in Primrose learn about fire prevention and ways to stay safe during the month of October. This outreach is done in conjunction between the staff at Primrose, the SVFD, and the town Fire Inspector. The children learn not to play with matches, how smoke detectors work, stop-drop and roll, and other important lessons. The formal assembly was capped off with a a tour of the fire engine and an ambulance. This year's assembly was a new style for us and it was designed and led by SVFD firefighter and Primrose teacher Shannon Mackey and coordinated by 2nd Assistant Chief Ray Carile. Thank you to everyone who helped participate in such a successful event!
