On Thursday January 17th, 2019 Somers VFD members were honored at the Putnam County Fire training graduation ceremony. SVFD members Laurent Verard and Douglas Crockatt completed the firefighter 1 training program in 2018 at Putnam. Firefighter 1 is the basic entry class that all SVFD members complete to become firefighters. This class is approximately 129 hours long. Congratulations to both of our members and all who completed this rigorous training program!
