At approximately 5:45pm on Saturday January 19th, 2019 Somers Fire and EMS were dispatched to Stonehouse road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Car 2441 (Chief of Department Jockimo) arrived on scene 4 minutes later and found a vehicle off the road and down an embankment behind a house. Mini-Attack 14 and Ambulance 80B4 arrived and began assessing the single occupant of the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle by bystanders prior to FD arrival. The SUV was resting precariously teetering on the edge of a stone retaining wall. Upon the arrival of Rescue 20 SVFD members quickly put our new Res-Q-Jack struts into operation to stabilize the vehicle to prevent it from rolling down the hill. The patient was removed up the embankment to the awaiting ambulance for transportation to the hospital. Somers Fire remained on scene while heavy tow equipment including a rotator from Lisi's was able to remove the vehicle. Somers FD units cleared the scene at 8:30PM
