SVFD Fall prevention workshop

October 30, 2019

Today, the SVFD launched its new Fall Prevention Program. Over 70 members of Heritage Hills AM Club attended the presentation. In 2018 Somers Fire answered over 2000 calls for our ambulance service. Almost 300 of those calls were from residents who had fallen and injured themselves. Realizing that most falls are preventable, the SVFD launched this program to reduce what is the number one cause for accidental death in people over 65. The SVFD would like to thank Westchester Family Care, Anytime Fitness and Burke Rehabilitation who have partnered with us.
We would love to speak to any group that you belong to. Please contact us at chiefs@somersfd.com for additional information and presentations.
