At 5:47am on November 8th the SVFD was requested mutual aid to Yorktown with a tanker for a reported structure fire on Baptist Church Road. Shortly after dispatch Car 2442 and Engine 188 (acting tanker) were on the road. Yorktown FD members were met with a large two story residential house with fire throughout. Upon arrival of the Somers units Engine 188 began shuttling water from the nearest fire hydrant (almost 2 miles away) to the scene along with tankers from Croton, Continental Village, Bedford Hills, and Millwood. In addition to the initial Somers units, Tower Ladder 18 was requested to relocate to cover Yorktown's firehouse. As the incident progressed Tower Ladder 18 was requested to move up to the scene to assist in hitting hot spots in the building from above with its master stream that ground crews couldn't reach. Members of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department operated in Yorktown from approximately 6am to 1pm when all units were released by Yorktown command.
