Busy August for the SVFD

August 2020 was a busy month for Somers Fire/EMS. In total the SVFD responded to 340 emergency incidents throughout the month. This is compared to August 2019 where we responded to 195 total incidents. During August 2020 we had Tropical Storm Isaias which resulted in approximately 150 "extra" responses compared to the same time period 2019. It was definitely an unusual month for us and we are thankful for our mutual aid partners who were always there to assist! A breakdown of incidents for last month is below:

The SVFD responds to 2500+ calls a year making us consistently one of the busiest fire departments in Westchester County. SVFD members are ready to respond to emergencies 24/7 and take great pride in serving the residents and visitors to the Town of Somers.
