As 2020 comes to a close we are reflecting back on another busy year for the SVFD! In total during the year 2020 the SVFD responded to 2,616 calls for service with 755 being fire calls and 1,861 EMS and 57 Personal Injury Accidents where both Fire and EMS are dispatched. 2020 was a very challenging year for us all but especially here in emergency services trying to mitigate the global pandemic. Somers Fire/EMS continues to be one of the busiest agencies in Westchester County. A breakdown of some of the call types as dispatched is as follows:

The busiest apparatus were:
Rescue 20 (Lincolndale) with 297 runs
Engine 181 (Amawalk) with 260 runs
Ladder 48 (Somers) with 185 runs
Engine 185 (Granite Springs) with 167 runs


During 2020 the SVFD also conducted:
201 formal department drills totaling 574 man hours.
111 In-house standby's totaling 659 man hours.
