On April 12th members of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team conducted a drill to practice surface rescue techniques. A surface rescue simulates the victim on top of the water or above the surface. One example is someone struggling while drowning. With the upcoming season changes people will be heading to the lakes, beaches, and reservoirs in our area. The dive team specializes in many different types of water rescues and is also available to our neighbors for mutual aid.
