** WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE IN CHURCH**

Date/Time: May 29th, 2021, 12:44am

Location: 253 Mahopac Avenue, Yorktown Assembly of God Church

Description: At 12:44am the SVFD was dispatched to Mahopac Avenue for reports of fire coming from the church. Car 2443 arrived minutes later and requested the 10-75 (Working fire signal) be transmitted as flames were showing from the front of the building. Somers crews quickly worked to extinguish the flames from the outside before making an interior attack to put out the fire that had spread to the attic. Upon the arrival of mutual aid companies, crews were put to work and the fire was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and electrical in nature by the Westchester County Cause & Origin team. Somers units cleared the scene at 2:47am.
