** HELICOPTER IN DISTRESS AND PROPANE TANK FIRE**

for a reported helicopter in distress. A motorist called 911 stating that a helicopter was hovering right above the tree line and appeared to be in distress. Units searched the area but the call was unfounded.

Propane Tank Fire: Date/Time: Tuesday June 14th 2022, 6:37pm Location: Route 118 Description: At 6:37pm Somers FD was dispatched to a reported grill fire next to a house. Upon arrival of Car 2443 (AC Meeker) at 6:39pm he reported a propane tank fire with no exposure issues. Upon the arrival of engine 185 SVFD members quickly stretched a hoseline and began cooling the propane tank to prevent an explosion. Upon the arrival of engine 188 they supplied additional water to engine 185 for firefighting operations. During the operation SVFD members worked to establish an unmanned monitor using the blitz-fire monitor carried on engine 183 but it ended up not being put into operation. Somers FD units operated for an hour before returning to service.
