While en route, Westchester County 60 Control advised they received multiple calls and that it was burning toward a structure. Upon arrival, MA-14 found a medium sized brush fire in the middle of a cow pasture due to downed power lines caused by a fallen tree branch. Mahopac ave command requested NYSEG and quickly determined best access would be to drive the brush truck onto the field due to the difficult access and long distance from the driveway to the fire. SVFD Firefighters stretched the booster line off MA-14 and used 500 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. After NYSEG turned off the power, Somers Firefighters hit a few hotspots before picking up and returning to service. Units operated for approximately 1 hour. No cows were injured and cheered us on as we extinguished the fire!
