Car 2441 and Engine 183 with a crew of four responded on the initial request. Upon arrival SVFD members went to work assisting the Yorktown crews with containing the rapidly growing fire. Yorktown command requested additional
Somers resources including Mini-Attack 14 (Brush fire truck) and rehab supplies. MA-14 signed on immediately as two members were at the firehouse standing by, followed shortly after by Utility 35 with additional rehab supplies for the firefighters working. Upon the arrival of MA-14 it entered a field so additional hose lines could be deployed close to the fire to help contain it. SVFD units operated for approximately 3 hours before being released by Yorktown Command.
