As of 6pm we have responded to 10 wind related emergencies. Somers FD also operated at two structural fires at the BOCES campus. The first was an air handler on the roof on fire, second was a compressor in a mechanical room on fire. Both fires were caused by power issues relating to the wind.

As we get into the evening time, there are residents without power in Somers and the wind is expected to continue through the night.
