NY state law mandates all interior certified firefighters be trained in and equipped with a bailout system. Bailout systems are employed in the event that firefighters are trapped by flames or heat in a multi-story structure and the only safe exit is through a window.

SVFD firefighters spent a beautiful Sunday morning on August 10th performing test jumps from a simulated building. The final jump includes certification on their personal bailout system which becomes an integral part of their protective equipment.
