Location: Old Tomahawk Street

Description: At 8:08 pm, Somers Fire was dispatched to Old Tomahawk Street for a motor vehicle fire. Car 2442 arrived on location within seconds after dispatch and confirmed a car fire. A Putnam Valley Fire Chief was in the area and used an ABC fire extinguisher to knock down a bulk of the fire prior to additional Somers units arriving. The fire was quickly extinguished. Units operated for approximately 1 hour before turning the scene over to Somers Police.
