Location: 342 Route 202
Description: Yesterday, Somers Fire and EMS were dispatched to 342 Route 202 Optum Medical Care for a reported car into the building. Units arrived on location, made patient contact, and patient care was initiated. Somers Fire Units assessed the structural stability of the building, and shoring the compromised area of the building to prevent further collapse until the victim could be removed. Due to the technical nature of the incident, additional mutual aid resources were requested to the scene. The Westchester County Technical Rescue Team and Bedford Hills FD assisted us with shoring the building, removing debris, and extricating the victim from the vehicle. Somers Fire units turned the scene over to the Somers Building Department before all units returned to service.
