On the morning of November 21st Somers FD ladder 48 was returning from a mutual aid fire in Yorktown when Somers FD was dispatched to Krystal Drive in The Willows complex for a reported chimney fire. Ladder 48 and Car 2441 arrived moments later and started operations. Chief of Department George Wahlers assumed command. Ladder 48's crew used the aerial to access the roof and they also stretched a hose line to the interior. Engine 185 arrived, connected to a hydrant and laid hose to supply ladder 48. Crews investigated the pellet stove inside the house and found a fire behind the stove. The fire was quickly extinguished without any major damage to the house. Somers FD units cleared the scene within an hour.
