📍Location: Primrose Drive / Lalli Drive

🚨Description: On Friday, December 19th, the Somers Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Primrose Drive and Lalli Drive for a reported oil truck rollover.

Upon arrival, units found a home heating oil truck overturned on its roof. Somers Fire units operated on scene for approximately three hours, mitigating hazards and containing a fuel spill of approximately 15 gallons. Absorbent booms and pads were deployed to prevent oil from entering nearby storm drains.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) were notified and responded. The scene was later turned over to New York State Police. The roadway remained closed for approximately nine hours while cleanup crews removed spilled oil and pumped affected sewer drains.

We would like to thank Croton Falls Fire Department for standing by with an engine and Yorktown Fire Department standing by with a ladder to cover additional calls in our district while we operated at the oil truck rollover.
