📍Location: Somers Chase Complex

🚨 Description: Last night at 9:02 PM, the Somers Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire in the Somers Chase Complex. First-arriving units found smoke showing from the structure and quickly stretched a handline into operation while the second-due engine secured a water supply from the hydrant.

As conditions progressed, a 10-75 Working Structure Fire was transmitted, bringing in mutual aid companies to provide additional resources. Somers crews opened the wall near the fireplace and located an active fire within the walls. Somers units, along with our mutual aid partners, were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent further extension throughout the home.

We’d like to thank WCDES Battalion 13, Croton Falls FD, Bedford Hills FD, Goldens Bridge FD, Katonah FD, Yorktown FAST Team, Peekskill EMS Rehab, and Westchester EMS 45 & Medic 2 for their assistance on scene. Thank you as well to Mahopac FD and Mahopac Falls FD for standing by at our headquarters to cover additional fire calls within Somers district during the incident.

All Somers units operated on scene for approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes and the scene was turned over to the Building Department.
