Engine 180 has returned to Somers after an almost 9 month long refurbishment project. Engine 180 is a 2001 Seagrave pumper and it carries 1,000 gallons of water. It is assigned to our "Somers House" at 270 Route 202 in the center of town. The refurbishment project was done through Hudson Valley Fire Equipment and Gowans Knight in CT. This project included a new paint job and updating many key features on our almost 15 year old pumper. Some upgrades included LED lighting both emergency and scene lights, a Zico mechanical ladder rack, and a redesign of the hose bed for additional storage just to name a few. We here at the Somers FD are very happy to have this essential part of our fleet back in service and serving our community.
