This past Friday September 11th on the 14th anniversary of the tragic attack on our country, Somers FD participated in a remembrance event in Putnam County. The Putnam County 9/11 memorial is located in Carmel at the intersection of Route 52 and Fair Street. Somers FD was asked for our Tower Ladder to participate by raising an American flag above the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by both uniformed members of the emergency services, as well as local residents and the turnout was huge. There were guest speakers and a reading of the names of those lost. Somers FD is proud to have participated in remembering those who were lost on that somber day.
