On Sunday September 27th 2015, the Somers FD celebrated our annual inspection. Inspection is the time of the year where the members of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department present our apparatus for the Board of Fire Commissioners, elected representatives, and other agencies. Members spent countless hours cleaning and making sure the apparatus and equipment are in top shape. Awards are given for two classes; over 18,000 pounds, and under 18,000 pounds. During the Inspection our annual awards are also presented to the members for accomplishments they made throughout the year. The results and awards of the 2015 Inspection are below:

Best appearing apparatus over 18,000 pounds: Tower Ladder 18, Granite Springs firehouse and Lt. Ray Carilie
Best appearing apparatus under 18,000 pounds: Mini Attack 14 and Utility 5 tied. Both are assigned to the Lincolndale Firehouse. Mini Attack 14 is under the direction of Lt. Greg Lucia and Utility 5 is our Fire Police vehicle under Captain Robert Dugan.
