Mutual Aid Responder Program

Home Agency Verification

In order to participate in the Somers FD mutual aid responder program, we require some information from your home department. The following information must be submitted on official letterhead and signed by the Chief of your department. The letter must include:

1. Written permission to participate as a mutual aid responder (fire or EMS) in the Somers Fire District and permission to use home department turnout gear (if applicable).

2. Verification that you have completed an annual physical that meets NFPA 1582 including the date of last physical.

3. Verification of current mask fit testing including date of last testing.

4. Verification that you meet your departments bailout training requirements (If applicable).

5. Verification from home agency that you are current with OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogen testing.

All training requirements are subject to the approval of the SFD Training officer to determine equivalency to Somers FD training. This verification must be renewed annually. Please have your Chief contact the Somers FD Chief’s office if they have any questions.
